- TITLE: Manuscript Columns Do Not Import Into a Table
- PRODUCT: Ami Pro 2.0
- DATE: 29-Jul-1992
-
- PROBLEM:
-
- Text in Manuscript columns or tables imports into Ami Pro without creating a
- table. There are tabs between the columns of text. A tab ruler with
- appropriate tabs is not created. Existing tabs in the Ami Pro document are
- used which may not match the widths of the Manuscript columns. If there are
- no tabs in the Ami Pro document, the text from Manuscript columns or tables
- will align at the left margin.
-
- SOLUTION:
-
- An enhanced Manuscript filter (MSCRIPT.FLT size 42928, dated 05-20-92) is
- available which will automatically create a table for text in Manuscript
- columns or tables. Because of the difference in column width calculation
- between Manuscript and Ami Pro (Ami Pro uses a smaller unit of measure to
- specify column widths in tables), it may be necessary to adjust the Ami Pro
- table column widths to accurately match the original Manuscript columns or
- table. Any graphics in columns will not automatically import, but these
- graphics files can be imported into the appropriate Ami Pro table cell after
- the Manuscript file is imported.
-
- Contact the Lotus Development Corporation Word Processing Division Customer
- Service Department at 404-399-5505 and request the Ami Pro release 2.0 filters
- disk. This disk contains all of the most current filters for Ami Pro release
- 2.0. The latest filters for Ami Pro 2.0 are also available electronically
- from the Lotus WPD bulletin board at 404-395-7707 and from library 2 Ami and
- Ami Pro on the LotusWP CompuServe forum. Download the file FILT20.EXE from
- either location.
-
- HOW TO INSTALL THE UPDATED FILTERS
- 1. From the Windows Program Manager, load File Manager.
- 2. Copy FILT20.EXE to the Ami Pro program directory (this is usually
- C:\AMIPRO). You will need approximately 1,439,106 bytes of available disk
- space (size of the FILT20.EXE file plus the sizes of the files that will
- be extracted from the FILT20.EXE).
- 3. In File Manager, run the file FILT20.EXE. This is a self-extracting file
- which will place the individual filter files on your hard drive.
- 4. Select the file names AMIDW.INI, AMIWP.INI and AMIFONT.INI.
- 5. Move these files (do not copy) to your Windows 3.1 program directory.
- 6. Delete the file FILT20.EXE.
- 7. Close the File Manager.
-
- HOW TO MODIFY THE AMIPRO.INI FILE
-
- 1. If Ami Pro is currently running, press ALT + F4 to exit Ami Pro.
- 2. From the Windows Program Manager run Notepad (there is usually an icon
- for Notepad in one of the Program Manager groups).
- 3. In Notepad choose File / Open.
- 4. Specify the file name AMIPRO.INI in the Windows program directory and
- choose OK.
- 5. Look for the application lines. The following is a listing of the
